We’re working on getting the hand-me-down children’s toys to feel like a natural part of the garden. 💁🏼‍♀️ Scoop has a preferable view point to the seat, apparently.

Hands down my favourite thing at the allotment right now - the mange tout wall. Variety ‘Carouby de Maussane’ which has such beautiful flowers and so far lovely long pods. One of the reasons I was so sad when the May winds blew down their structure is because I’m growing these for Arlo, so we can wander down and snack on them together (probably with a pot of hummus 🤤). Because this year more than ever is about growing for our family. Though in truth I am having problems planting some things out, partly because it’s been too hot and also because I’m terrible at clearing any self seeded flowers 🤭. Check out the Nigella patch which is 100% out of control ➡️ But the bees will love it 🐝🙈

The dahlias are still in their pots, the cabbages still sitting by the back door. A weekend of no gardening but oh how we’ve enjoyed the garden. One thing has been confirmed however - if you bring your children to Rachel and Tom’s they go home very grubby. 😂 (In my defence I wasn’t expecting the kids to get in the chicken’s dust bath as happy as they were 🙈😂)
